SGI Certified training focused on the student! Your success is our success!
MTS Training School is proud to offer flexible training. No need to sacrifice a month of your time all at once! The MELT curriculum consists of three core sessions delivered in three environments: in classroom, in yard, and behind-the-wheel (in-cab).
AT MTS Training School, your training is all about YOU! We offer small classroom sizes to enhance the learning experience and we now offer one-on-one training in the truck and in the yard! Our instructors are SGI certified and we have all embraced the MELT program, both in the classroom and in the truck!
IN-CLASS: The MELT Classroom Session consists of 11 Modules with 47 hours of content designed to introduce and better inform future professional drivers. You must have either your SGI commercial medical completed or hold a Class 1 Learner's license prior to the start of your classroom training. Your training never expires, so completing this session as your learner's prep is a great option! We offer this session FREE to our students who are booking in for the practical training in the future.
PRACTICAL: The In-Yard Session refers to activities that occur around the truck when the truck is not in motion and it exceeds the 17.5 hours as required by the MELT standards.
The Behind-the-Wheel (In-Cab) Session refers to on-road and backing manoeuvres to meet or exceed the combined 57 hours required by the MELT standards. This includes driving in various conditions and backing-up. We offer you more than just learning how to pass a test route!
We take the roads less travelled to provide you with the greatest possible learning experience! You will be prepared for the days following the road exam! Your training is all about YOU in the driver's seat!
(Your Class 1 Learner's License and completion of the MELT classroom material, is a requirement to start the practical sessions.)
